About

Let me introduce myself

I'm Helen, founder of Be Voice Confident. Since qualifying as a Speech and Language Therapist in 1999, I have always worked with the voice. I am passionate about how the way we speak reflects the people we are. I understand the problems that can occur when the voice we have does not reflect how we are feeling or where we aspire to be. This is why I offer voice coaching alongside specialist voice therapy services.

I have the relevant credentials to practice in this space:

My career has included working in the NHS and in the US health system. I have conducted clinically relevant research promoting the enhancement of Speech and Language Therapists' use of nasendoscopy for therapy. I have been a clinical supervisor in voice at the University of Washington in Seattle. I have trained fellow Speech and Language Therapists in the skills of using nasendoscopy, both in the UK and the US.

Throughout my career, the constant has always been a strong connection with clients. Being in a position to support someone on their journey from a voice that doesn't reflect them, or has become painful or effortful, to a place where it is joyful again. This is a privilege, and one that I don't take for granted. I have learned so much about listening, guiding, encouraging and taking steps together.

Be Voice Confident allows me to offer my expertise and experience to individuals and businesses so that they can reach their vocal potential.

I am really looking forward to working alongside you to do the same.
